None Are Denied

“And in the very place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’ there they shall be called children of the living God.”
-Romans 9:26

I read this and think of the inclusive power of God's love, of the expansive quality of God's embrace, of the limitless possibility for all to access freedom from bondage and exclusion. God put God's self on the cross to die the most humiliating kind of death then available and showed God's power to overtake death, to be living, still. What a promise! What a deed done already, once and for all, excluding none who believe. Our creator shared in every human pain for all people, for all time, for all children of the living God. Lack is transformed to plenty. None are denied.

Let us pray…

Most generous God, thank you that I was Your child before I was born, that my neighbor was Your child before they were born, that all who seek to do Your will are Your children. Help me to train my gaze on you, to do your will, and to claim the saving grace freely offered to me and others. In Jesus name, Amen.
