Helping Make Christmas More Magical

Angel Tree provides Christmas gifts—handed out by Santa at a special Christmas party on the All Saints’ campus—to children of incarcerated parents. One in 28 American children—2.7 million—live with the shame of a parent’s incarceration. Project Angel Tree offers members of the All Saints’ community a concrete opportunity to help these children feel loved and valued.

Early in the Christmas season, Angel Tree volunteers staff a table on the patio on Sundays with gifts tags that list a gift one child wants. Parishioners sign up to take a gift tag and purchase that gift for a child on behalf of their incarcerated parent. They wrap and bring the gift they have purchased to All Saints’ on a mid-December Sunday. Near Christmas, the children attend a Christmas party on the All Saints’ campus where SANTA hands out the gifts “from” these children’s incarcerated parents. These gifts let the children know that their parents are thinking about them and love them. It’s a time of joy made possible by the generosity of everyone who participates.
