Weddings at All Saints’
Marriage Is a Lifelong Spiritual Union
Our Book of Common Prayer says it beautifully:
“Holy Matrimony is Christian Marriage, in which a couple enter into a lifelong union, make their vows before God and the Church, and receive the grace and blessing of God to help them fulfill their vows.”
When a couple seeks to be joined in Holy Matrimony at All Saints’, the expectations are that one of them is a baptized Christian, that both are serious about their relationship to God, and that they are committed to being faithful to one another and to life in the Church. A wedding, therefore, involves not just the couple, but also God and God’s people, the Church. Each Parish wedding is an act of worship and, as such, must reflect the character and traditions of All Saints’ Church.
