Internal Volunteering
Worship Ministries represent a great opportunity
to be at the core of how we practice our faith here at All Saints’…and we’re always looking for volunteers.
If you’re new, this is a chance to deepen your faith and learn about worship.
Altar Guild
Quite simply, liturgy begins and ends with the work of the Altar Guild. To care for the sacred vessels, the bread and the wine, the linens and hangings and the candles and torches used for worship in the Sanctuary is far more than a task, it is a true ministry.
The All Saints’ Altar Guild is an all-volunteer group whose ministry is to care for the altar, vestments, vessels, and altar linens of the parish. Altar Guild members prepare the sanctuary for services, and clean up afterwards and frequently supervise the decoration of the sanctuary with flowers.
Youth Acolytes
Youth Acolytes not only participate as servers, torchbearers, and lighters of candles but also crucifers, thurifers, and banner-bearers. Many of the youth here at All Saints’ participate in the Youth Acolyte program as part of their giving to the church.
Lectors (Adult and Youth)
Lectors are trained in reading scripture and are appointed by the clergy person in charge to read lessons or lead the prayers of the people. The term is from the Latin, “to read.” There is no license required for this lay ministry. A lector may also be known as a reader. Here at All Saints’ we have both adult and youth lector programs.
Ushers
You will see ushers welcoming attendees at the entrance to the church every Sunday morning and at services throughout the year. Ushers are usually the first ‘face of All Saints’ visitors see, so their role is key to making people feel at home, to answering their questions and to connecting them to the greater community of All Saints’. Additionally, ushers are responsible for taking up the offertory, directing parishioners at the celebration of Holy Eucharist, and taking a head-count at each service.
Recording Ministry
The Recording Ministry is responsible for recording and livestreaming services every Sunday. Members of this ministry also handle audio during many of our services.
Mail Team
The mail team is an important ministry and a great way to volunteer at All Saints’. As the name suggests, the team is responsible for helping prepare and mail out important documents to the congregation.
