Each According to his Own Deeds

You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.

Romans 2:1

The very act of judging others condemns me for I am acting against God's will. God is the only true judge and he will pass judgement on the sinner in His own way. It is very hard not to judge as we go about our everyday life; whether it be the person that cuts you off in traffic or an unkindness you see being done to someone else, even a complete stranger. Our charge by God is to do His Will according to His commandments and teachings and not worry about the perceived sins of others. That's His job. God's kindness to us leads us to repentance and on the day of judgement, God will reward each according to his own deeds.

Let us pray…

Dear Jesus, Help me to think and do only those things that are for good and to glorify you. Discard from my mind the deeds of others with whom I disagree. They are your concern and I turn them over to you. I pray that I might always look to you for guidance. In your Holy Name, I pray. Amen.
